Tell me about yourself:
  1. This will be the first question asked in the most of the interviews. The reason for this question is to figure out 
    1. your communication skills
    2. how articulate you are
    3. how confident you are
    4. how will handle some unknown situation
    5. and obviously to find out your technical strengths.
    6. Some persons ask this question to go 
    through your resume while you are telling about yourself.
    The wrong way to handle it:
    1. confused on where to start
    2. pausing in between while telling
    3. finishing of in 2-3 lines.
    4. Telling all the stories about your family, your brother, & what they are doing.Don't elaborate on these points unless interviewer asks you.
    Bad interview eg: I was born in  small village, where there is no proper schooling system. My father bought up with lots of difficulties.
    My brother has done his engineering in so and so college, now he is working as software engineer. This kind of starting answers are very boring to the interviewers.So focus more on your recent education which is necessery and your acadamic achievements.
    The correct response:
    1. you have to figure out what the interviewe is expecting most, for that job.
    2. your carreir accomplishments that suits your job.
    a. Briefly introduce about your name, your recent education or job.
    b. In case of freshers, point out what you have achieved in your recent education which is useful for this current position.
    c. If you have good percentage marks or got some recognition in your college days highlight that point.
    d. If you have lead any team to any seminar or lead the team in the sports or any where make out that point. Interviewers like leaders.
    e. If you have worked previously in some company then highlight how your achievements in the team has helped the company by siting some example, which will fit current role.This is kind of marketing trick, where you are marketing yourself to the company about your qualifications and he is buying your skills.
    f. Highlight most important accomplishments.
    g. Tell something which makes them to pose more questions about that topic. 
         Eg: tell a story in your past company or in college, which got you some recognition.
    h. if you were working in some company, briefly explain your roles and responsibilities to interviewer, so that he can post some more questions on that.
    Bottom Line: 
    Tell what interviewer is expecting for that role. Don't tell your family story.
    Talk about things you have done and jobs you have held that relate to the position you are interviewing for.

Why did you leave your last job?
  1. This question will be asked for various reasons.
    1. If they see if you are changing the companies very frequently.
    2. To test your attitude towards employer
    3. Your answer can tell what kind of person you are. (for eg: are you money minded, or attitude person or complaining person or 
    Wrong answers:
    1. My boss was very bad. His behavior is not proper. This shows that you are having complaining nature which will not fit for companies.
    2. I had problems with my management
    3. They don't pay me well. This can lead to a question if you get other company who pay better than me, will you leave this company? so you should avoid this.
    Right answers:
    1. That job was not suited for my qualification.
    2. Since there is scope of better oppurtunity in here, I am opting for it.
    Eg: my previous company abc, is a good company to work with. Where I won some spot awards in recognition of my achievments.
    But offlate things started changing where we are not getting enough projects or the new role or job offered doesn't fir for my qualification. Also I feel that this is the time to move on to take new responsibilities and improve my career options. So I had to quit my position there.

What experience do you have in this field?
  1. This question will be asked to find if you are having any extra skill compared to others to perform that job. Interviewer may be expecting more than what you can do for that job.
    Wrong Answers:
    1. Don't just tell I am having 2 years of experience in this field.
    Right Answers:
    1. Tell how many relevant field experience is there in that technology. (for experienced persons only).
    2. Along with that, tell how your efficient skills helpd the clients resolve the issues very fastly.
    3. Or you can site some examples where you stood extra ordinary compared to other employees in solving some problem or some troubleshooting. Or may be some example where client has written appreciation mail about you to your manager. Or how you handled a tough situation or problem or client in your area.
    Especially for freshers:
    1. You should first know for which position you are being interviewed.
    2. Based on that you should tell if you have achieved some medals or recognition or have done some nice project on that technology which got some recognition for you.
    3. Or may be you can tell how fastly you can learn new technologies since you are having strong fundamentals. Cite with one example. So even though you don't have relevant expereince you can convince him that you can learn stuff easily.
    4. You can also tell that you are good in working with groups, with some example like how you played a key roled as class leader or project leader in your college in leading a group. This also will count as a strong skill required for any field.

What do you know about this organization?
  1. The reason for asking this question is:
    1. To know how much home work you have done about your job and this company
    2. This tells whether you are really interested or caring about working with that company.
    So before going to any interview, do some Google research regarding that company, what products or projects they are working on.
    Gather some info on their clients.
    Wrong answers:
    1. I don't know much, I just got a call from the HR to attend the interview.
    Right answers:
    1. Tell what all the projects or services they are working on.
    2. Tell about their major clients.
    3. Tell how joining into that company will boost your carrier and improve your carrier opportunities.

    Right answers:
    1. Do some research on what the company is doing and their profile
    2. Tell how your qualifications and your previous work experience will fit for that position.
    3. Tell how your long term carrier goals can be improved if you are working for that company.
    4. Tell how you are impressed with company profile and their projects
    5. Also tell you feel that this is the company which can use your capabilities fully.

What is your salary expectations?
  1. This question will be asked to
    1. obviously to pay as much less as possible for cost cutting.
    2. or to find out if you are weighing your skill set properly or not.
    3. or to filter out too low profiles or over qualified persons from the interview. this is one resume shortlisting criteria for the companies.if you tell too less or too high then less chances that you will get an interview call from them.
    Wrong answers:
    1. Sticking to some exact figure saying you need some x amount only.
    2. Giving exact figures is a wrong way.
    Right answers:
    1. First try to find out from the interviewer only like what is their company standards, like how much they pay for that position. If you are lucky you can crack some clues on it.
    2. Then tell it is "as per industry standards." 
    a. If you are a fresher tell "opportunity is important for me", you can pay me as per the industry standards or as per your company standards.
    Note: Don't give away yourself with too cheap price.
    b. If you are an experienced person, then follow below tips about salary negotiation.
    Some more tips about salary negotiations:
    1. Don't reveal your previous company salary until the offer letter time
    2. If they ask about your salary expectations in the beginning, first ask him to test your skills, then later take up salary discussions.
    3. If you tell too less or too much, they may not take up interview at all.
    4. Let them give you a job offer, and then raise the question of salary. This works well for the candidates who are looking out for an offer first.
    5. If you are already holding an offer then you can get job offer first, and then demand for higher amount as you are already in secured position.
    6. Also make sure that what is your worth based on your skills and market standards.
    7. Don't give away yourself with too cheap price.
    8. Or tell you need some x% hike on your previous company salary.

    4. Because you don't have any other choice
    5. Don't keep calm for this question.
    6. Don't tell that others are not good, or don't complain about others.
    Correct answers:
    1. Do some research on what the company is doing and their profile
    2. Tell how your qualifications and your previous work experience will fit for that position.
    3. Also tell you feel that this is the company which can use your capabilities fully. And tell that company will get advantage if it recruits potential candidate like you for that profile.
    4. Tell or Cite some situation where your presence in the previous company has resolved some issue which is worth for the current position.

What qualities do you look for in a boss?
  1. Be generic and positive. Safe qualities are knowledgeable, a sense of humor, fair, loyal to
    subordinates and holder of high standards. All bosses think they have these traits. Don't say any thing bad about the boss. Make sure that you talk only about the positive things you need in a boss. Never tell I don't like bosses who are arrogant, who gives work pressure etc.. which may pisses them off.
