In a partnership, A invests 1/6 of the capital for 1/6 of the time, B invests 1/3 of the capital for 1/3 of the time and C, the rest of the capital for the whole time, Out of a profit of Rs. 4600, B's share is:
Suppose A invests Rs. x/6 for y/6 months. Then, B invests Rs.
x/3 for y/3 months.
C invests [x - x/6 x x/3] i.e., Rs. x/2 for y months.
A : B : C = x/6 x y/6 : x/3 x y/3 : x/2 x y = 1/36 : 1/9 : 1/2 = 1 : 4 : 18.
Hence, B's share = Rs. 4600 x 4/23 = Rs. 800.
