X and Y started a software business. Their intial investments are in the ratio 14 : 15 respectively. If X invested the money for 10 months, for how many months did Y invest his money if the annual profits were divided in the ratio of 7:6 ?
Suppose X invested Rs. 14x for months and Y invested Rs. 15x for y months. Then,
=> (14x x 10)/(15x x y) = 7/6
=> y = 840/105 = 8.
Hence, Y invested the money for 8 months.
